I've been in Vegas since Monday as we prepare for this year's NACE show--and I've almost walked the heels right off my shoes!
The show opened today and I've had the opportunity to have some great conversations and walk about half of the show floor so far. One booth where I stopped for a chat was with the California Autobody Association. I always find it interesting to find out what groups are working toward across the country. Some recent bills they have been involved with include:
- Paint Capping (making it illegal for insurance companies to cap paint and materials beginning January 1, 2009)
- An anti-steering bill (S.B. 1167) that was supported by the Assembly and Senate in CA and ultimately vetoed by Governor Schwarzenegger
- They are also actively working on labor rate surveys in order to ensure fair (and better) wages
Just a quick overview of what's happening on the west coast. What's going on in your neighborhood?
